Books Read in January, 2021

Our Darkest NightOur Darkest Night by Jennifer Robson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

At first I felt this book was too light and superficial. The author sucked me in and created a story with so many facets that I was intrigued. I love the characters and I eventually fell in love with the story line and characters. Such a different view of the holocaust than I am used to. A great story with exciting and spine tingling narratives. Ms Robson is a genius author. Obviously well thought out and sensitive. I loved it. Put this one on your list.

One Perfect LieOne Perfect Lie by Lisa Scottoline
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great story, this is a book club selection so I don't want to give anything away.
Great writing with a solid plot that was just complicated enough to keep me reading. Her use of the language is superb. Even the parts of the story that may have seemed superfluous had meaning and kept the story alive and real. I've become a fan. She has written literally dozens of book and may, like this one, are stand-alones.
